Looking for tips or advice on traveling through central america. POints of interest, what to see or do, or anything you would like to share.
In Guatemala, I would highly suggest taking the time to go to the jungle ruins of Tikal. I went there in 2010 and it stands out as one of the most incredible and surreal places I’ve ever witnessed. The location is deep in the rainforest, and they run everything off the grid, so at night they use battery powered lights in the few buildings there. The effect of such low light pollution makes the night sky appear to be just a few feet above your head. They open the ruins just before the sunrises in the morning. Walking through this ancient place in the heart of the jungle early in the morning is magical. Definitely worth your time!
